10k a day for Jude breaks through £4k mark!

27 June 2022

Liam Palmer’s ‘10k a day in June for Jude’ has now raised more than £4,000!

Three-year-old Jude Mellon-Jameson, son of former Wednesday goalkeeper Arron Jameson, is receiving treatment for high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.

Jude’s family are looking to raise £350,000 for an experimental course of therapy in America they hope will significantly reduce the chances of the cancer returning in the future.

Palmer has remained dedicated to his month-long venture, committed to completing his 10 kilometre challenge each day.

From during a family holiday to training with the squad at Middlewood Road, the popular boyhood Wednesdayite has always found the time to hit his 10k target for Jude.

Now into the final few days, there is still time for supporters to get behind Liam and donate where possible to Jude’s fund.

Via his Solving Kids’ Cancer page, Palmer said: “His dad Arron is a dear friend of mine who came through the Sheffield Wednesday academy around the same time as me. His continued efforts alongside his wife Lucy have been extraordinary.

“As a dad myself I cannot begin to imagine how they feel/felt at times along what must seem a never ending road. Their strength and courage not only for Jude but each other is truly remarkable.

“I hope by me doing this small fundraising gesture, it will allow Jude, Arron and Lucy to reach their target that little bit sooner. We are all behind you. Keep strong. Remain positive.”

Top class work, Liam!
