Liam Palmer will run 10 kilometres each day throughout June to raise funds for young Owl Jude Mellon-Jameson.
Three-year-old Jude, son of former Wednesday goalkeeper Arron Jameson, is undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
Jude’s family are looking to raise £350,000 in order for the youngster to receive an experimental course of therapy in America that could significantly reduce the chances of the cancer returning, following his initial treatment in the UK.
Owls defender Liam will run 10k each day in June to raise awareness and funds to help the son of his former teammate Arron.
The pair played together as youngsters in the Owls academy and both made their professional debuts for Wednesday during the 2010/11 campaign.
