With five goals and four assists in the last nine games, Barry Bannan is a player bang in form at a crucial time of the season.
The captain’s output has been a major factor in our current run of outstanding form.
On the back of eight wins from 10 games, Wednesday have risen up into the top six and with Bannan and co firing on all cylinders, confidence is sky high at the club.
The skipper was simply unstoppable against Burton in midweek and posted two goals and one assist to help keep our winning run going.
“I love winning and we’re winning games. That’s the biggest thing,” Bannan told swfc.co.uk.
“No matter what I do in life, I want to win.
“When you are winning and shooting up the league everything feels good. I am enjoying my football and playing in what I would say is my best position.
“I’m really enjoying it, scoring goals, getting assists, the team is winning and long may it continue.”
Wednesday will look to make it four wins on the bounce this weekend at Lincoln and the message from Bannan is clear; foot firmly to the floor and keep on climbing.
“It’s looking good but we need to keep our foot on the gas. It’s all good winning but then you need to keep working day in, day out to keep this feeling around the club going.
“You look throughout the whole team and everybody has been contributing and that’s why you are seeing these results.
“It shows the hard work we are doing, the training we are doing, it shows the work we are putting in because it is paying off on the pitch.
“We have players coming back too which will be a big boost for the club and it will keep everybody on their toes.”
