Windass in contention for Cheltenham

21 March 2022

Josh Windass is in contention to return to the field on Saturday as Wednesday host Cheltenham.

The forward hasn’t featured for the Owls since picking up an injury in our 2-0 win over Morecambe in February.

But the 28-year-old has made good progress behind the scenes and is back training with the squad.

Manager Darren Moore was asked about the availability of Windass following our 0-0 draw with Gillingham.

“Yes, he’ll be fine for Cheltenham," he said. "As long as we don’t get any reaction from him in training he’ll be back next week.”

It’s more positive news on the injury front for the Owls, with the likes of Chey Dunkley, Dominic Iorfa and Lee Gregory all back in the fold.

The gaffer continued: “We saw Chey come back this week, Dominic Iorfa last week, obviously Lee Gregory has had 90 minutes on Saturday and Josh Windass comes back next week - and possibly Mide (Shodipo).”
