Extended live coverage on iFollow Wednesday!

17 November 2022

With World Cup 2022 about to begin, attention turns domestically to the EFL – and we are pleased to announce that all Sheffield Wednesday League One fixtures will be available to live stream in the UK throughout the Qatar tournament.

The increased availability comes due to the Saturday afternoon closed window (UEFA Article 48) not applying during the World Cup.

In addition, a further three league games will be available to stream as Bank Holiday fixtures or a designated midweek match.

In short, Wednesdayites can watch the push for promotion over the holiday period via our iFollow live broadcast service, home and away!

All passes are priced £10 per game, with 100% of UK live stream revenue channelled directly into Hillsborough.

EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch said: “With EFL fixtures continuing throughout the World Cup, we have a fantastic opportunity to showcase our competition, with supporters able to enjoy more access to watch their team play, whether at the ground, in the pub or at home.

“While the winter World Cup has brought challenges for domestic leagues, for the EFL it also brings this opportunity to test how the streaming of live matches during traditionally blocked hours is received by fans that wish to watch their team, wherever they may be.”

The Owls’ home match against Shrewsbury in League One this Saturday, 19 November kicks off the extended streaming service and passes are on sale now HERE.

Coverage continues for the League One games against Derby (A), Exeter (A), Oxford (H), Fleetwood (A), Port Vale (H) and Cambridge (H).

The only match unavailable over the festive period is our Emirates FA Cup second round home tie with Mansfield given the competition’s broadcast restrictions.
