FA Youth Cup third round preview

29 November 2022

The Owls Under-18s continue their FA Youth Cup journey tomorrow night at Hillsborough.

Wednesday host Barnsley under the lights in S6 in round three.

So far in the competition, Andy Holdsworth’s side have been drawn at home in every round.

The youngsters began with a lunchtime penalty shootout victory over Burton when the scores were locked at one apiece after 120 minutes.

Bailey Cadamarteri was on target for the Owls on that occasion.

Next up, Wednesday played host to Category One academy Derby and advanced courtesy of Joey Phuthi’s solitary second half strike.

The 1-0 win was no more than Wednesday deserved to set up a clash in round three with our South Yorkshire rivals.

Our clash with the Reds is set for a 7:00pm start at Hillsborough.
