In form and ready for battle

4 October 2022

Two of the league’s form sides go head-to-head this evening at Home Park and manager Darren Moore believes the game has all the ingredients to be an entertaining spectacle for the fans.

Plymouth and Wednesday, first v third, are set for battle this evening in Devon.

It will be an intriguing contest at the top of the table as Plymouth boast the strongest home record in League One, while Wednesday are one of the strongest on their travels with four wins from five.

“Credit to both clubs in terms of the level of consistency we are showing,” Moore said.

“With what is being said about both teams in the build-up, hopefully the game plays out in that manner.

“We go down to Plymouth for the rearranged game, it’s two teams that play good football, have a structure, a dynamic and we look forward to the game.

“I’m just so sorry for our fans it’s on a Tuesday night where I know we will still bring numbers down, but it will be difficult to get the same volume of support as we would for the original fixture.

“But we will go down there and give it our very best for everyone.

“Certainly last season, I remember the games well and we just couldn’t quite get going.

“The first game, when I look back, we didn’t capitalise on our chances and they did and ran away worthy winners.

“We went down for the cup match a little bit depleted so yes, we know the arena, we know the environment, it’s a beautiful pitch and we’ll be ready for it.

“There is a real balance and fluidity to Plymouth and they have dangerous players and like us, they are showing they can fight, scrap and battle. At the moment, there isn’t much to split the teams.”
