We look forward

26 October 2022

Following on from our 1-1 draw at Lincoln, tonight we face the first of three successive home fixtures.

Back-to-back League One encounters with Bristol Rovers and Burton in League One take place ahead of our FA Cup first round tie with Morecambe on Friday week (7:45pm).

Ahead of the busy S6 schedule, manager Darren Moore has penned his regular column in tonight’s edition of ‘Wednesday’ - our award winning matchday programme.

“We are back at Hillsborough tonight and then again on Saturday. We are proud of the excellent home record we have established, now it is up to everyone to ensure we maintain the progress we have made and turn that progress into points. Bristol Rovers this evening represents another tough test. Joey has done an excellent job there and it was evident on Saturday the progress they have made.

“I was asked at the weekend about when I believe the league table starts to take shape and my answer was clear – in May. Nothing is won or lost at this stage of the season. We will continue to take one game at a time, we play the game, we draw a line through it and we move on. That is my mantra as a manager. There are so many games in this division, we have the cup competitions on top of that, there is no time to dwell on the past, we can only look forward.”
