OWLS TO HONOUR HER LATE MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II

Please arrive early

To that end, all turnstiles will close between 2:55pm and 3:00pm. Access to the stadium will not be permitted within that time.

The Fan Zone, 1867 Lounge and Wednesday Tap will close at 2:30pm.

The Owls Megastore and Ticket Office will close at 2:45pm.

Before kick-off

The players and coaching staff of both clubs and match officials will wear black armbands.

Members of the Armed Forces will place floral tributes inside the centre circle, around which the players and officials will gather.

A minute’s silence will follow before an acepella rendition of the National Anthem by ‘The Voice of Sheffield’ Maxwell Thorpe.

The game will then kick off at 3:00pm.

MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

The front cover of the official matchday programme is dedicated to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a fitting image capturing the royal visit to Hillsborough in October 1954.

THE MATCH

The Owls will be out to build on a terrific midweek display at Morecambe which yielded a richly deserved three points.

Darren Moore’s side eased to victory with a 3-0 win at the Mazuma Stadium with goals from Josh Windass, George Byers and Michael Smith.

But Wednesday will be put to the test this weekend as league leaders Ipswich are in town.

The Tractor Boys have made an excellent start to the campaign and sit top of the pile, four points ahead of Wednesday at this early stage.

Kieran McKenna’s men are yet to taste defeat in League One this season.

TEAM NEWS

Wednesday: Ben Heneghan is edging closer to his return from injury after another good week of recovery at Middlewood Road.

Akin Famewo and Dennis Adeniran are longer term injury absentees.

Aside from a few minor knocks and scrapes in our victory over Morecambe, the Owls are in good shape for the game.

Ipswich: Defender Cameron Burgess is ruled out after suffering a facial fracture during Town’s 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers in midweek.

Cameron Humphreys (quad) and Sone Aluko (knee) are sidelined.
