Burton v Wednesday
Saturday 15 April
3:00pm
League One
Pirelli Stadium
THE MATCH
Wednesday head to Burton having returned to the summit following Easter Monday’s 3-0 win over Accrington at Hillsborough.
Burton enter the contest in 18th place with a seven-point buffer from the League One trapdoor.
The Brewers have an inconsistent record on home soil, with their seven wins countered by as many defeats.
S6 eyes will be on promotion rivals Plymouth ahead of the game as the Pilgrims play out a derby clash with Exeter at midday.
REMEMBERING THE 97
This fixture marks the 34th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster and the 97 Liverpool supporters who lost their lives in 1989 will be remembered at the Pirelli Stadium.
Wreaths on behalf of Burton and Wednesday will be laid on the pitch before kick-off by the managers, Dino Maamria and Darren Moore, followed by a minute’s applause.
The players from both clubs and the match officials will wear black armbands.
TEAM NEWS
Wednesday: Mallik Wilks and Reece James will miss Saturday’s game after picking up muscle injuries against Accrington.
Michael Smith, though, is back in contention to start while George Byers and Josh Windass remain sidelined.
Burton: With ex-Owl Sam Winnall on the treatment table, Dale Taylor and Josh Walker are expected to lead the line.
Taylor scored against promotion-chasing Barnsley during the Brewers' 2-1 win on Good Friday at the Pirelli Stadium, while Walker notched his maiden strike for Burton three days later in the Brewers’ 3-2 reverse at Charlton.
