Support Jude Mellon-Jameson 💙

17 April 2023

The son of former Owls goalkeeper Arron Jameson needs your support as he fights a rare form of cancer.

Four-year-old Jude was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer, in 2021 and has since undergone several rounds of treatment in the UK.

Jude has seen support from several members of the Sheffield Wednesday family since his diagnosis, including club stalwart Liam Palmer, who ran 10 kilometres every day throughout June 2022 to raise awareness and donations for the youngster.

Following incredible backing from the public, Arron and wife Lucy were raising funds to take Jude for advanced treatment in the USA, which can reduce the chances of his cancer returning if his initial care was successful.

However, as Jude completed his frontline treatment in November last year, his cancer returned.

Since then, further rounds of treatment have reduced the disease, bringing back options for his family to travel overseas for care that is unavailable in the United Kingdom.

Arron and Lucy said: “We want to give Jude the best chance of staying cancer-free and we feel like, if Jude is eligible, seeking further maintenance treatment is our best option.

“He’s barely started his life before cancer has tried to snatch it away from him, we do not want him to go through this again.”

The support of the public has been integral to Jude’s journey so far, and will continue to be, as Arron and Lucy seek the follow-up care their son needs.
