There's a lot of football to be played

1 April 2023

Darren Moore is looking squarely ahead as the Owls head into the Easter period on the back of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Lincoln.

The Imps posted their 19th draw of the season to leave Wednesday frustrated after Danny Mandroiu cancelled out Michael Smith’s opener.

Moore said: “The boys gave everything and I’ve just told them to keep their heads up. We deserved to win the game but Lincoln are a resolute team, they dig in deep and they have drawn a lot of their games.

“We almost scored with the last kick of the game but it wasn’t to be so we dust ourselves down and move on to the two games over Easter.

“There is a lot of football to be played. We have gone back to the top of the table and we have to stay focused and stay positive.

“We had Mallik back today, he’s got a good 20 minutes under the belt that will stand him in good stead. We’re looking to getting one or two back and that will be a big boost.

“We’ve dominated the game, we’ve had all the possession and Lincoln have scored with their only chance they had.

“But like I say, there is a lot of football to be played, there will be twists, there will be turns, the players will be in for recovery tomorrow, then we prepare for Oxford on Friday.”
