Owls v Saints - your comprehensive guide

3 August 2023

Ahead of our first Championship game of the new season against Southampton we have compiled a comprehensive guide for supporters returning to Hillsborough on Friday night.

Season Ticket Cards

All new Season Ticket cards were dispatched two weeks ago and sent to supporters who have either moved seats or changed age bands, as well as the thousands of new Season Ticket holders.

Any Season Ticket holders who simple renewed their seat and remained in the same age band have had their usual card uploaded with all this season’s fixtures.

If any supporters have received a new card, but thought they didn’t need a new one, please use the card.

Full information about Season Cards can be found HERE

Tickets

This fixture is Category D and prices start from £36 on the Kop (£31 for Owls Members). Tickets can be purchased online HERE until kick-off or from the Ticket Office until kick-off.

Turnstile entry

Our brand-new access control system debuted for the Owls’ friendly against Luton last Saturday. The system now has the ability to scan mobile phones so supporters with e-tickets no longer have to print out at home and can simply present the phone as usual.

Season Ticket holders need to scan the bottom long barcode and not the information QR codes at the top of their cards on entry into the stadium.

Supporters with a concessionary ticket will need their entry confirmed by the turnstile operator upon entry.

Please do arrive as early as possible, typically a matchday sees the majority of supporters entering the stadium during the final 10 minutes before the game. We advise fans to enter as early as possible to help ease the flow. Turnstiles will open at 6:30pm.

Supporters are reminded that from this season, there will be no tickets sold on the turnstiles.

Pre-paid ticket collections

For supporters who purchased tickets after the postal deadline, they will be available to collect in the Ticket Office until 6:30pm on Friday. After this time, Kop and North Stand tickets can be collected from Gate 18 (disabled entrance next to the Megastore) and South Stand and Grandstand tickets from the South Stand Matchday Ticket Office (South Stand car park).

Ticket Office and Megastore opening times

The Ticket Office and Owls Megastore will open at 9:00am through to kick-off and will not reopen after the game.

The Ticket Office telephone lines will be open between 9:00am and 6:30pm and we ask for your patience as long queuing times are expected.

Owls Megastore

All adult shirts and junior shirts are available from the Owls Megastore as well as our new range of training wear. The Megastore will be open all day Friday and close at kick-off.

Matchday hospitality

All hospitality areas are situated within the South Stand, doors open at 5:00pm and tickets can be collected from staff at the reception desk. Please note no entry to the suites will be permitted before 5:00pm.

Owls Foundation Lounge

The 1867 Lounge will be open for Owls Foundation members from 5:00pm and as always is first come, first served until capacity is reached. Last orders at the bar will be called at 7:30pm, with the lounge vacated by the main doors for fans to enter the stadium via the turnstiles by 7.45pm.

Supporters who have recently become Owls Foundation members and have not yet received your membership card will have details checked upon entry.

Wednesday Tap

The Wednesday Tap will be open from 5:00pm until capacity is reached. Our on-site pub will reopen after the final whistle for one hour after the final whistle.

Fan Zone

The Fan Zone situated in the North Stand opens from 5:30pm on Friday and entertainment will be brought to you by Those Guys Covers Band.

Matchday programme

Our award-winning programme ‘Wednesday’ returns with a 52-page edition available around the stadium, priced £3.

Friday’s programme is dedicated to iconic SWFC figures Trevor Francis and Chris Bart-Williams, who sadly passed away in July.

50/50 Draw - £2 per ticket

Our popular 50/50 draw will return for each home fixture this season, look out for the sellers on the perimeter of the stadium. Tickets are priced at £2 and you could win up to £4,000 at half time!

Car Parking

Supporters who have a seasonal car park pass in any of our designated car parks should note that your details will be on the list with the car park steward. On arrival the steward will request your details before allowing you to park.

Grandstand Family Zone

The Grandstand Family Zone returns for the new campaign with all the entertainment from last season, plus a couple of exciting additions!

From 6:30pm when the turnstiles open, the fun begins with the return of our face painter, activity stations with colouring and drawing as well as kids’ television!

Supporters will see notable improvements in the area thanks to Owls Esports who have furnished the area with two PlayStation 5s for youngsters to play ahead of kick-off, and our brand-new photo backdrop in partnership with LensGo Visual Media.

As usual, mascots Ozzie and Barney will also be on hand to meet and greet the kids but keep an eye out for one or two mystery guests who will be making an appearance pre-match!

Betting

Supporters who like a little flutter on the game will notice the William Hill kiosks situated around the stadium.

Cashless stadium

Once inside Hillsborough, all kiosks and hospitality areas are completely cashless with card payments only.

Please arrive early!

A large crowd is expected on Friday evening and with the implementation of a new turnstile system, as ever we advise fans to arrive as early as possible to ensure swift entry into the stadium without missing any of the action.

And finally…

Thank you as always to each and every Wednesdayite for your fantastic support and patience over the close season.

WAWAW!
