Danny Rohl reflected on the impressive win over Blackburn and said his side have taken ‘a huge step forward’.
Wednesday scored three goals for the first time this season with a composed and professional performance that yielded three vital points.
Rohl said: “This is a huge step forward for us. We have had two tough games in a week against two tough teams and I am very proud of the players.
“We have had strategies and game plans, we have done a lot of work, so the players deserve the points we have taken this week.
“We played with passion and intensity which is what I want to see every game from my players. I have the fight in me to the end and my demand is for the same from everyone else.”
Rohl was full of praise for Bailey Cadamarteri, who scored his first senior goal for the Owls.
The S6 product was lively throughout and turned in a vibrant display against Rovers.
Rohl said: “I am delighted for Bailey and pleased to have him in the group.
“I have said I am the kind of managers who will give the young players a chance.
“He has stepped up with the first team, which is why I took him, and to see him get his goal today was special for me and special for him.”
