We had a feeling

16 December 2023

After a sensational climax at Hillsborough as the Owls struck a late, late winner to beat QPR 2-1, Danny Röhl spread the credit around the whole S6 camp.

Anthony Musaba was the man of the moment, firing home in front of the Kop following a Bailey Cadamarteri goal that cancelled out Ilias Chair’s opener for the R’s.

Röhl told swfc.co.uk: “It was fantastic for everyone, I am so happy. Our fans were unbelievable, they helped us so much over the line.

“We had a feeling, that feeling that something special can happen. We have spoken about the belief about going all the way to the last whistle and the players delivered.

“The substitutes are so important, they are as important as the team that starts the game. Everybody played their part, if you keep believing then special things can happen.

“Two weeks ago it was 12 points, now it is six points, we will keep going step by step, game by game.”

Röhl will assess injuries to Bambo Diaby, Callum Paterson and John Buckley, all of whom were forced off through injury.

He added: “It is too early to say right now, we will know more soon. The intensity of the Championship can lead to these injuries but if one player cannot play, another player must come in and make their claim, they must be ready.

“Tonight we focus on the positive things, this is only three points but a very big three points.”
