Charlton Athletic v Wednesday
Saturday 25 February

League One
The Valley

SUPPORTER CONDUCT

The club are extremely disappointed to report that objects have been thrown towards the field of play during recent home and away fixtures.

We would stress in the strictest tone that any individual proven to have perpetrated such an act will face the maximum possible sanctions in line with EFL Ground Regulations and the Chairman's Charter.

We remind supporters once again that this behaviour is completely unacceptable and with the aid of CCTV imagery, Sheffield Wednesday will not hesitate to exercise our zero tolerance policy.

While such incidents are isolated and very much in the minority, they are not and never will be tolerated, whether following the Owls home or away.

EFL Ground Regulations can be found HERE.

Under the banner of ‘Love Football. Protect The Game’ the FA, Premier League and EFL have together introduced new measures and stronger sanctions across the game to tackle the increased anti-social, discriminatory and criminal behaviours seen within football grounds.

THE MATCH

Wednesday will be out to defend our position at the top of League One with a tricky fixture at Charlton.

A late Tyreeq Bakinson header settled our previous clash with the Addicks at Hillsborough earlier this season.

Darren Moore’s side inflicted a first defeat of the campaign on Charlton back in August, who have since blown hot and cold in the third tier.

Sitting comfortably in mid-table, the Addicks have posted three wins and three defeats from their last six games. At The Valley however, Charlton have slipped to 2-1 defeats against Fleetwood and Bolton in their last two home outings.

The Owls are unbeaten in 19 league games and should Wednesday keep that run alive and avoid defeat in South East London on Saturday, a new club record spanning over 60 years will be set.

TEAM NEWS

Wednesday: Marvin Johnson will miss the trip to the capital as he serves the first of a three-game suspension.

Aden Flint and Akin Famewo were rested for our 5-2 win over MK Dons last weekend and will be in part of the squad on Saturday.

Mallik Wilks (muscle) remains sidelined, though Moore is hopeful that the former Hull forward will return to training next week.

Charlton: Wednesday could face several former players this weekend.

Michael Hector, Sean Clare and Matt Penney are all in the Addicks squad and could feature.

Young striker Miles Leaburn (hip) is in the running to make his return from injury this weekend.

Mandela Egbo (quad) and Todd Kane (hamstring) remain unavailable.
