Supporters raise 2k for Bluebell Wood!

27 February 2023

Generous supporters raised over £2,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice ahead of our game against MK Dons earlier this month.

The local charity held a bucket collection around Hillsborough before our 5-2 win over MK, with a total of £2,055.07 raised by fans of both clubs.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice provide palliative care for children and young adults, supporting families through the most difficult of times.

Will Vaulks has been a long-term supporter of Bluebell Wood and the Owls midfielder was delighted to hear of the funds raised.

Vaulks said: “I’m really grateful to everyone supporting Bluebell Wood.

“It’s a charity which is close to my heart and these funds will help them continue their amazing work.”

Ruth Walllbank, Regional Fundraising Manager at Bluebell Wood, added: “We are so grateful for our recent matchday collection at SWFC.

“This incredible amount makes such a difference and means that we can continue to support the children, young people and families that access our services here at Bluebell Wood.

“Without the support of our amazing volunteers, Sheffield Wednesday fans and players, this fundraising would not be possible.”
