Jack Hall was equal to a long range hit from Hackford before Wednesday went into the break to regroup, bringing on Josh Ashman to restore our defensive back three.
Ismaila Coulibaly curled goalwards from a free kick early into the second period, but Hall caught the shot comfortably.
Substitute Ashman raced into the box to meet a Shipston corner only for his header to clear the crossbar.
United took the lead on 67 minutes, John Fleck dinked an accurate cross onto the head of Marsh, who nodded into the far corner.
Jili Buyabu was next to test the Owls shot-stopper, turning inside from the left and firing into the grasp of Hall before the derby was brought to a close with the hosts triumphant.
