Less than one month ago the Owls edged a close-fought clash with Fleetwood at Highbury Stadium.
The Boxing Day meeting on the road saw Darren Moore’s side battle back from a goal down to nick a vital three points.
On that occasion Wednesday had to show their mettle and dig in to grind out the victory. A moment of class from Marvin Johnson was the difference on the day.
The Wednesday boss is expecting an equally tough assignment at Hillsborough on Saturday as Scott Brown’s men head to S6 with two wins from their last three in all competitions.
“On Boxing Day I thought they were a good solid outfit,” Moore said during his pre-match press conference.
“They like to play on the front foot. Scott has got good methods and I can see the quality of work he's done with those players.
“They've played 13 or 14 times away and only lost three times on the road so they're a good team.”
In terms of team news, George Byers is a doubt after suffering a foot injury in our 1-0 win at Wycombe last weekend.
Reece James will miss out with ankle ligament damage also sustained at Adams Park.
“George Byers is 50-50,” the gaffer continued. “We don't expect him to be out for too long. It all depends on his discomfort on his bruised foot. That'll be down to the player.
“Reece is going to be out for a few weeks. There is swelling on the ankle and we will let that settle but at this stage, I would have to say weeks.”
Moore has also revealed that former Owls loanee Michael Hector is currently training with the squad.
Hector, a free agent after leaving Fulham last summer, made 39 appearances for Wednesday in 2018/19.
Moore explained: “I've been happy with what I've seen, he's in the very early stages here and looks in good condition.
“We will look at him, he's a free agent and somebody who has played here before.
“He's a good age, good experience and we’ll give him that platform. He is an option but we are taking it steady with him at this moment.”
