Wednesday v Fleetwood Town
Saturday 28 January
3:00pm
Emirates FA Cup fourth round
Hillsborough
THE MATCH
The Owls take a break from league duty as we welcome Fleetwood to Hillsborough in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Cod Army visit S6 for the second successive Saturday following last weekend’s 1-0 reverse in League One.
Fleetwood are out to arrest a lean spell of three defeats on the spin having also gone down to Oxford and Portsmouth.
Wednesday meanwhile are on an extended run of resistance spanning 20 games in all competitions – a new club record.
TEAM NEWS
Wednesday: Darren Moore could give a debut to new recruit Aden Flint, who signed on Friday for a second loan stint at Hillsborough.
The gaffer has no fresh injury or suspension concerns as he plots a potential route to the last 16.
Fleetwood: Scott Brown could shuffle his pack for the cup clash. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Fleetwood boss said:
“We’ve been poor, especially in the final third which isn’t like us, but that’s in the past now so we need to work on that and put all our focus on Saturday as it’s a huge game for this club. We’ll change the game plan for Sheffield Wednesday."
Defender Shaun Rooney has served a four-match ban following his red card against the Owls on Boxing Day and is set to return to the squad.
