Portsmouth v Wednesday

Saturday 11 March
3:00pm
League One
Fratton Park

THE MATCH

The Owls head south this weekend for the League One clash with Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

The two sides met on the opening day of the season way back at the end of July at Hillsborough.

With a share of the spoils on that occasion from an entertaining 3-3 draw, the two will go head-to-head on Saturday in good recent form.

Pompey suffered a midweek defeat in South Yorkshire, going down 3-1 at Barnsley, but have won three of their last four league fixtures.

John Mousinho’s side are 10th in the table.

Wednesday extended the unbeaten league run to 21 games with victory over Peterborough last weekend.

The Owls are top of the table heading into the next round of fixtures, level on points with Plymouth but with two games in hand.

TEAM NEWS

Wednesday: Reece James and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are back available for the Owls.

James missed out last week through illness while Dele-Bashiru was not risked after sustaining a minor ankle injury in training.

David Stockdale has trained after a hip injury and is likely to be back in the squad on Saturday.

Mallik Wilks and Callum Paterson are making good progress from muscle injuries but not yet ready to return, while Marvin Johnson will serve the final game of his three-match ban.

Portsmouth: Our hosts on Saturday have several injury concerns.

Ronan Curtis will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury.

Marlon Pack (knee), Clark Robertson (hip) and Zak Swanson (groin) are sidelined.

Jay Mingi (knee) is also struggling with injury.

Elsewhere, Jayden Reid (knee) is another Pompey long-term absentee.
