Will Vaulks says the mentality of the Owls squad has been a key factor in our season.
The midfielder spoke with swfc.co.uk following Friday night’s draw with Bolton and cut a dejected figure after posting a point on the board.
With a desperate desire to improve game on game, Vaulks has his eyes set on Tuesday’s South Yorkshire derby as Wednesday head to Barnsley.
Discussing the club’s winning mentality this season, he explained:
“We want to win every game, simple as that really. Every game we go into we want to win and when we don’t we are disappointed.
“We’ll pick the Bolton game apart and see where we can be better and go from there.
“We’ve got a massive game on Tuesday, Barnsley away so we’ll take the point from Bolton, see what we can improve and go and try and win that game.
“We’re 23 games unbeaten and we want to see how long we can keep that going.
“The players and staff want to win every single game and that mentality has been a big factor in our success so far.”
Wednesday have suffered just three defeats all season with the last going all the way back to early October.
Barnsley are one of those three sides to inflict a loss on Darren Moore’s squad, with the Reds picking up a 2-0 win at Hillsborough in September.
“Barnsley are one of the few teams who have beaten us this season and the only team who has beaten us at our place in the league,” Vaulks added.
“We want to go there and give them one back but at the end of the day it’s only about the three points to try and push us closer to that goal of promotion.”
