We need you!

18 May 2023

Owls manager Darren Moore has issued a passionate plea to supporters ahead of tonight’s play-off semi-final second leg with Peterborough at Hillsborough.

Wednesday have a mountain to climb tonight after going down 4-0 in the first leg last week at the Weston Homes Stadium.

But the gaffer wants everyone together, full force, full energy and when the players step out onto the pitch for everyone to tackle the huge challenge together.

"Please get down to S6 this evening,” Moore said. “We need you, please don't think 'I'll watch it at home in my armchair' because we need you in the stadium.

"I speak on behalf of myself and the group of players. I'm thankful I can send this message to supporters because we need them at the stadium. So please let's see you there.”

Never in play-off history has a four-goal deficit been overturned in the second leg.

But the Owls have made a habit of breaking records this season.

“I don't think they needed telling,” the gaffer continued.

“What's happened has happened. We've got together and continued to work, as we have done all season.

“We've now got a game in front of a packed Hillsborough and we just want to go and win it.

"The big thing for me and the most important cog is the fans. Over the last 20, 30, 40 years, the most consistent thing is the fans who will continue to support the club. They'll be willing us on and they'll be the 12th man and the energy. I've told the players they need to be buoyed on by that."
