Dramatic decider for Di'Shon!

22 November 2023

Owls defender Di’Shon Bernard will return to Middlewood Road in high spirits having helped his Jamaican international side progress in dramatic fashion to the CONCACAF Nations League finals and Copa America 2024.

The Reggae Boyz played out a double-header against Canada in the Nations League, with the 23-year-old taking his tally of caps into double figures.

The first leg scheduled for Friday in Kingston was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and rearranged for Saturday morning.

Canada emerged triumphant 2-1 to put Mauro Biello’s team in charge ahead of the return leg in Toronto on Tuesday night.

And when the hosts took a first half lead, the odds were stacked against Jamaica - who promptly completed a stunning comeback after the break to win 3-2 and go through on away goals.

That secured not only a place in the Nations League finals for the first time in the Reggae Boyz’ history but also a passage to next year’s Copa America.

Bernard now heads back to S6 as the Owls resume our Championship campaign at Birmingham on Saturday.

Congratulations, Di’Shon!
