Today, Sunday 19 November, marks International Men's Day.
International Men's Day in the UK gives everyone a chance to celebrate and think about the contribution that men and boys make to our society.
Whether as mates, brothers, sons, grandsons, husbands, boyfriends, fathers and grandfathers.
It also importantly offers an opportunity for men and boys to think about some of the problems they face and to remind them they are not alone.
There are many charities that are geared up specifically to help men.
There are many others who help men chat about life and its ups and downs, through activities such as walking, making things or just talking ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’.
Men from all walks of life talking together as mates in a safe, anonymous and friendly way; Andy’s Man Club, Man Vs Fat, Men’s Shed, Talk Club and many more. There are groups all around the country, including in South Yorkshire.
These charities and groups can be found at www.ukmensday.org.uk so do please take a look. If you are looking to take up any fundraising in the New Year, these charities will always be happy for the support too.
However you see fit, please do enjoy International Men’s Day and reach out to those who care about you if you need support. You Are Not Alone.
