Match Pack: Owls v Millwall

10 November 2023

Wednesday v Millwall
Saturday 11 November
3:00pm
Championship
Hillsborough

THE MATCH

The Owls are back at Hillsborough on Saturday!

Millwall are next up for Danny Röhl’s side in S6, who are looking to build on a win at home last time out against Rotherham.

The aim for the Owls now is to turn these vastly improved performances into points.

A first win of the season against the Millers provided a much-needed boost and one more on Saturday would lift spirits further ahead of the international break.

For Millwall, it’s been all change recently and the Lions will head to Hillsborough under new manager Joe Edwards.

Gary Rowett left his post as Millwall boss last month after a four-year stint in the hotseat.

Last weekend the Lions suffered a late, late home defeat against Southampton under the caretaker charge of Adam Barrett. Ryan Fraser struck in the 93rd minute to seal the points and leave Millwall 18th in the table.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

This is our designated Remembrance league fixture. Our shirts will display a poppy and the game will commence following a bugle rendition of ‘The Last Post’ and a minute’s silence.

The match-worn shirts will be made available to purchase in a live auction straight from kick-off, with proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.

Each shirt will be individually signed by the respective player to make a unique piece of sporting history.

The auction is live from kick-off on Saturday and runs until Sunday 26 November at 1:00pm.

Key timings ahead of the game;

2:54pm – Army personnel lay wreaths in the centre circle
2.56pm – PA tribute and rendition of the Last Post
2.58pm – Minute’s silence – please note at this time, all turnstiles will close
2.59pm – Turnstiles reopen

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY

As always, we remind supporters to arrive early to avoid unnecessary queues, particularly given the Remembrance tributes on Saturday.

Please scan the barcode on entry, not the QR code on your Season Card.

TURNSTILES

Please note supporters can enter any turnstile in the stand for which the ticket is valid.

As outlined above, turnstiles will be closed during the minute’s silence.

Barry Bannan is available after his red card at Bristol City and subsequent one-match suspension was overturned in midweek.

Djeidi Gassama posed a serious threat last weekend at Ashton Gate in his first start for the club and will be pushing for more minutes.

LOVE FOOTBALL, PROTECT THE GAME

The EFL, Premier League, FA, FSA, PGMOL, LMA and PFA have come together this season to implement a series of measures to address behaviour across the game.

This includes new policies, procedures, and regulations to eradicate unacceptable conduct on the pitch, on the sidelines and in the stands.

The new measures build on the work launched last season to combat dangerous and illegal fan behaviour, supported by the ‘Love Football. Protect the Game’ football-wide campaign.

We are also reinforcing the importance of all supporters staying within EFL Ground Regulations, which can be found HERE
