Röhl praise for Cadamarteri

13 November 2023

Bailey Cadamarteri earned his first Championship appearance for the Owls on Saturday.

The young striker has been on an upward trajectory all season behind the scenes at Middlewood Road and for the Under-21s.

Cadamarteri has been prolific in front of goal for the 21s and has already hit the double figure mark for the season.

His goalscoring exploits for Neil Thompson’s side merited a place in the first team set-up and young Bailey has certainly grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

A milestone moment in any youngster’s career, Cadamarteri came on from the bench at half time against Millwall to register his maiden league outing for Wednesday.

Manager Danny Röhl explained the decision and said: “It was a result of his training performances.

"He came in and showed good things and this is what we want – it’s what we demand from them.

“He showed that he can run and he has pace.

“Also, he was always dangerous in the box and I like this, I like players who are brave to come in and show.

“I will improve him and develop him. It’s about bringing young players in, and we will do this.”

Cadamarteri made his presence felt in the final third and forced a good save from Lions keeper Bartosz Bialkowski not long after his introduction.

The striker will no doubt be keen to get back out on the pitch for the seniors again.
