After seeing his side win their first game of the Championship season, Danny Röhl cut a satisfied figure post-match.
The new Owls manager said he will enjoy the moment – before beginning the preparation for the next outing.
Wednesday emerged 2-0 winners against Rotherham and on another day, the scoreline might have been more emphatic but Rohl is content with the points.
He said: “Today we got the reward for the performance, which is the win. We had the gameplan, the players carried out what we wanted them to do and we got the three points.
“We showed them a lot of video, we had our plans, and I say well done to them for taking those plans out onto the pitch.
“We played with intensity right from the start because this is an intense division and that is what we must do.
“We played on the front foot which is what we must do to win games. I can see the improvement in the short time I have been here and now we must continue and improve more and more.
“We are creating a winning mindset. In the last two games we were unfortunate to get nothing but today we got the win and it is nice to be part of a winning dressing room today.”
Röhl tasted the S6 atmosphere for the first time and beamed in his media conference, adding: “It was amazing to see the stadium and listen to the stadium like this.
“The atmosphere was special and I thank all the fans for that. The fans have made me feel so welcome since my first day so to give them something to smile about today makes me very happy.”
