The Owls Under-18s were denied victory right at the last on Saturday at Middlewood Road as Crewe snatched a stoppage equaliser in a six-goal thriller.
In a topsy-turvy contest at the Owls’ training base, Devlan Moses gave Wednesday a lead after just two minutes before the visitors hit back with two goals to overturn the deficit.
Caiden Remy-Dee nodded home from a Carlos Rodrigues centre to level on the half hour mark.
Then after the break, for a second time in the game the Owls went ahead, this time through a super strike from Sutura Kakay on 58 minutes.
The young midfielder picked up possession 25 yards from goal and unleashed a stunning effort in off the post which looked to have earned three points for the hosts.
But the Owls were dealt a blow deep into added time when the Railwaymen levelled in the 94th minute to snatch a point in the last action of the game.
Owls: Philips, Rodrigues, Johnson, Kakay (Hunt 75), Swales, Hatfield (Dawes 66), Remy-Dee (Shaw 66), Thornton, Moses, Fernandes, Weston (Bobea 79)
