The Owls’ Under-21s continued their excellent start to the season with a resounding 4-0 win at Coventry on Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday, with Marvin Johnson posting 45 minutes on his first outing of the season, took the game to the Sky Blues and needed just 90 seconds to open the scoring. Luke Cook manoeuvred into a dangerous position at the back post and fired past Luke Bell.
On 19 minutes, it was 2-0. Skipper Sean Fusire raced through on goal and calmly dispatched beyond the outrushing Bell to double the lead.
Coventry spurned their best chance of the first half when Aidan Dausch lashed off target after finding space in the penalty area.
And the hosts were made to pay as the Owls extended their lead on 32 minutes, with Cook again on the mark, this time darting into the box to finish with some aplomb.
The striker almost claimed a hat-trick just after the break but could not keep his snapshot down from 10 yards.
But a rampant Wednesday could not be stopped and concluded matters on 63 minutes when a looping ball was expertly controlled by Bailey Cadamarteri, who advanced to smash his 11th goal of the season.
