In a close-fought S6 contest, the Blues claimed the points with a narrow 1-0 win.
It was a top of the table clash at Middlewood Road with Wednesday heading into the game unbeaten in four, with three wins and one draw.
Birmingham had posted four wins from four at the start of the season and victory at the Owls’ training ground maintained their 100% start to the campaign.
The academy boys will be aiming to bounce back this weekend against a struggling Wigan side at Christopher Park (12 noon kick-off).
The Latics youngsters have lost all six games in 2023/24.
