Big crowd, big responsibility

20 April 2024

The away end at Ewood Park on Sunday lunchtime will be a sight to behold.

Despite the switch to a Sunday, the early kick-off and the game being broadcast live on Sky Sports, tickets were snapped up in double quick time to back the boys in Lancashire.

Around 7,000 Wednesdayites will be right behind Danny Röhl and the team at the stadium on Sunday and the manager says with this privilege comes big responsibility.

“It’s a crucial thing for us,” the manager said. “But it also makes it clear we have a big responsibility.

“We have so many supporters with us and we want to give our massive fans the win, the gift. They deserve it.

“The biggest thing for me is to give our fans this present.

“It is a signal they recognise what we did in the past, how we have performed, that we still fight and that we try everything.

“Our away games are sometimes really special with some good moments.

“It started at Stoke in the last minute, Preston which was difficult but we took the win, QPR, Millwall. These were always at a crucial point. It will be a special atmosphere in the stadium on Sunday from our side.”
