Fight for every inch, for every supporter

One thing guaranteed on Saturday afternoon is an electric atmosphere at Hillsborough.

Tickets quickly sold out, more issued in the West Stand Lower and promptly back to sold out status!

With two games remaining and Championship safety back in Wednesday’s hand, the S6 clash with West Brom this weekend is another proverbial cup final.

Danny Röhl’s side have produced big results and performances in this enthralling run-in and none more so than last Sunday’s crucial victory at Blackburn.

As focus turns to the Baggies on home soil, the manager says his players will fight for everything and give their all to edge closer to safety.

“We spoke about the Blackburn game in a long meeting but then yesterday (Wednesday) we had a high intensity training, everybody was on fire, there was a good spirit and it was really good to see.

“Everybody is in one direction, our job is not done, we have two more games and we know on Saturday the next big one will come.

“Hillsborough is sold out and we want to show our supporters a good game. We want to fight for our supporters in the stadium for every inch, we will invest everything and for this we need a good training week and clear mindset.”

It will be a tough afternoon for the Owls as West Brom head to Sheffield looking to cement their place in the play-offs after a strong campaign.

He continued: “They are a good team and well organised, different shapes, very compact, very narrow, good ball possession and solutions to keep the ball well.

“I think, and you know me now for the last six months, I want to have the mindset from my players that we attack.

“If we just wait and cross our fingers and are not convinced that we can do something, then it is difficult to go into such a game.

“They are a strong opponent, we know this, near the top of the table but in the last weeks we have shown our performances and have been on a good level.

“We have different ways how we score now but all in all it is about doing our basics right like we have done in the last weeks.

“We are looking at what we can do against such an opponent, which routes we can attack, what we need in different positions.

“But for ourselves, our confidence levels are high and we should use this as well to go into the game.”
