Match pack: Owls v Norwich

9 April 2024

Wednesday v Norwich City
Tuesday 9 April
7:45pm
Championship
Hillsborough

THE MATCH

The Owls will achieve a significant milestone this evening as the clash with Norwich is the club’s 5,000th league fixture.

Wednesday are only the 10th EFL club to reach this huge milestone.

Standing in the way this evening are a strong Norwich side who prevailed in the East Anglian derby at the weekend.

David Wagner’s side triumphed against rivals Ipswich at Carrow Road with Marcelino Nunez scoring the only goal of the game.

Wednesday, of course, posted three vital points in the trip to QPR as goals from substitutes Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba settled the key fixture.

The victory has kept Danny Röhl’s side in touch of Championship safety and once again, there is potential for the Owls to climb out of the relegation zone tonight.

TEAM NEWS

Wednesday: Following a short turnaround from Saturday’s win in the capital, Röhl may opt to freshen up his side this evening.

One enforced change will be loanee Ian Poveda missing out entirely after pulling up at Loftus Road with a hamstring injury.

Returning trio Kristian Pedersen, Callum Paterson and Josh Windass will all be in the manager’s thoughts.

Gassama and Musaba starred from the bench at the weekend and could come back into the starting XI.

Norwich: The Canaries have no fresh concerns following victory over Ipswich.

Jonathan Rowe, Jacob Sørensen and Grant Hanley are working their way back from injuries but will miss out tonight.
