Much has been said since the Owls were defeated by Huddersfield three weeks ago.
The 4-0 reverse left Wednesday eight points adrift of safety and with a mountain to climb.
In the wake of the clash at the John Smith’s Stadium, manager Danny Röhl has offered an insight into how the club picked up pieces and went forward with their season.
Röhl said a meeting was called the next day where the bones were picked and honest words were spoken from all in the room, coaches and players.
The manager believes many positives have come from the debrief with a difference as he explained:
“I think sometimes you need to have not just a tactical meeting after such a defeat, I think sometimes you need maybe a different kind of meeting.
“When I look back it was helpful and we have taken steps forward.”
Since then, Wednesday have collected six points from a possible nine with victories over Birmingham and Millwall, in between a defeat against league leaders Leicester.
During his pre-match press conference he continued: “After the Huddersfield game, we spoke about our mindset and what we need. We had a very emotional meeting and it was great to see.
"We were very honest, but also very clear in the message we took from this meeting. There was a lot of energy.
"Our reaction has been good from then and we showed that we are still alive and that was the key message. It was helpful and my players believe in our way and it’s fantastic.
“It is possible for teams to drop in our position after this kind of result but we have turned a negative into a positive and we have a great opportunity to continue this over the next few weeks.
“In such a meeting you cannot plan everything, the dynamic was good, the coaches spoke, the players spoke, it was good to see because it showed the life of the group, the belief and energy.
“When the players have the trust to say something it is also a good sign.”
