Clinical in both boxes

17 February 2024

Danny Röhl praised the Owls’ performance in both boxes after his side beat Millwall 2-0 at The Den.

First half goals from Iké Ugbo and Anthony Musaba, combined with a strong defensive display, saw Wednesday leave the capital with three points and a clean sheet.

Röhl said: “Today, we did what we had to do and this was important in the right moments, we were clinical in both boxes.

“A clean sheet is important away from home and this was the basics to win this game.

“My team did fantastic after four busy weeks, it’s not easy but we did well.

“Our massive supporters recognised what we did and in the second half it was not always nice football, but we did what we had to do.

“We went 5-2-3, I wanted my number 10s to be in the pockets and this happened for both goals.

“After the first goal I spoke to Musaba on the line and told him to be clinical and use his speed. Then in the second half, it was about having a good defence.

“We have two wins from three games and we need to take as many points as we can.

“Today we can enjoy, then next week we will prepare the next games and we move forward.”
