Liam Palmer reached another milestone in his Owls career following our 2-0 victory over Millwall on Saturday.
The defender’s starting place at The Den marked his 424th appearance for Wednesday, a tally that sees him climb into the club’s top 10 of all time.
Palmer now sits joint ninth with Ernest Blenkinsop and Teddy Davison, just 10 appearances away from John Fantham.
After our victory in London, Palmer said: “It’s a real honour and not something I take for granted, I’m thankful.
“You don’t think about it too much, it’s always in the back of your mind.
“To get the 424th appearance and cap that with a good performance, and three points most importantly, it’s a nice feeling.
“To stay at this amazing club from being seven, having been through everything, you never really get the chance to look back on it and see how far you’ve come because there is always another game.
“I can look at it now and be happy, but the three points were more important.”
