Bruno Fernandes was the man of the moment for our Under-21s on Tuesday afternoon as the Owls edged past South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley 2-1.
The Professional Development League clash at Oakwell Training Ground saw the young forward score two goals, including a last minute winner against the Reds.
Wednesday went ahead in the 15th minute when Barnsley failed to deal with Sam Reed’s cross into the box, Favour Onukwuli then sent the ball across goal for Fernandes to finish into an unguarded net.
Andy Holdsworth’s side were pegged back on 71 minutes as Aiden Marsh fired home in off the post from 20 yards.

Then as Barnsley pressed for a winner, the hosts were hit with a swift counter and Fernandes raced through on goal to calmly finish past Reds keeper Rogan Ravenhill to secure three points.
