Charlie McNeill has joined the Owls on a permanent transfer.
The 20-year-old striker left Premier League giants Manchester United last month and heads over the Pennines to Hillsborough, becoming our eighth summer signing.
After rising through the academy ranks at Old Trafford, McNeill moved across Manchester to City, where he earned a stellar reputation at youth level in front of goal.
That prompted United to re-sign the frontman for a reported £750,000.
McNeill continued his prolific pedigree, scoring 24 goals in 21 appearances for the Under-18s, and was part of the Red Devils side that lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2022 alongside the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
Current United manager Erik ten Hag handed the Greater Manchester product a senior debut in September of the same year against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
Loan spells with Newport and Stevenage followed before being recalled by United last January.
McNeill now links up with his new Wednesday team mates at St George’s Park, where we continue with preparations for the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
