Owls forward Bruno Fernandes scored one of the goals of the season as the Owls defeated Peterborough United 2-0 on Saturday morning at Middlewood Road.
Captain Jarvis Thornton gave the Owls a first half lead with the deadlock broken on 40 minutes.
Fernandes squared for Thornton who struck first time and forced the save but the Owls captain was first to react and tucked the rebound home from eight yards.
With the game in the balance, Fernandes then settled matters in the most emphatic manner on 89 minutes.
The in-form attacker has been a regular on the scoresheet this season, with goals for both the 18s and 21s.
Though Fernandes produced his very best in the final minute on Saturday with a goal right from the top drawer.
As the cross came in from our matchday trailist on the right, Fernandes executed the perfect overhead kick to seal the win and keep alive hopes of a top two finish.
Wednesday next head to Ipswich on Saturday (11:30am).
