Rotherham v Wednesday
Saturday 2 March
3:00pm
Championship
AESSEAL New York Stadium

THE MATCH

A sold-out New York Stadium will provide the backdrop for another vital clash in the Sky Bet Championship for the Owls.

Wednesday make the short trip to Rotherham buoyed by an excellent run of results that has left Danny Röhl’s side just three points shy of safety.

Despite three wins from four, though, there remains plenty for the Owls to do to climb closer towards the safety line.

A South Yorkshire derby with the Millers will further test Wednesday’s survival credentials.

Rotherham have lost six league games on the bounce but the Owls manager expects one of our toughest games of the season given what is at stake in the derby.

The poor recent form has left the Millers 16 points from safety with 12 games to play.

TEAM NEWS

Wednesday: Di’Shon Bernard will serve a one-match suspension this weekend following his dismissal in our 2-1 win over Bristol City last time out.

Ex-Miller Michael Ihiekwe will be assessed on Friday after picking up a knock.

There is positive news at the back for the Owls with Akin Famewo back in full training this week and available for selection.

Dominic Iorfa made his comeback last weekend with a late substitute appearance against the Robins and will be pushing for a start.

Ashley Fletcher returns from suspension.

Josh Windass is out on the pitches at Middlewood Road making good progress but limited to individual training at this time.

Rotherham: Cameron Humphreys (Achilles) is a doubt for the Millers.

The defender returned from injury at the start of the month and has played five consecutive games but was forced to withdraw late in the club’s 2-1 defeat at QPR last weekend.

Humphreys could add to a long list of defenders sidelined as Tyler Blackett, Grant Hall, Daniel Ayala and Cohen Bramall are also missing from action.

Ollie Rathbone suffered a concussion injury in the Millers’ 4-3 loss at Ipswich just over one week ago, while ex-Owl Andre Green, who ruptured his Achilles tendon, is a long term injury absentee.
