Neil Thompson is a former professional player, playing at all levels up to and including the Premier League with Barnsley, Ipswich, Scarborough, Hull and Boston United.
Thompson brings a wealth of experience to Hillsborough from all levels of the game and has also managed and coached at first team level with York, Scarborough, Boston and, of course, Wednesday.
Thompson successfully led the Owls Under-23s all the way to the PDL North and National title in 2016/17 and only narrowly missed out on repeating the impressive feat the following season.
