Sheffield Wednesday signed defender Daniel Pudil on a permanent deal from Premier League side Watford in summer 2016.

For Pudil, the move was familiar as the left back spent almost the entire 2015/16 campaign on loan at Hillsborough.

The Czech defender played a pivotal role in Wednesday’s Sky Bet Championship campaign which resulted in a charge to the play-off final.

Pudil made 42 appearances during his loan spell with the Owls and scored two goals in victories over Preston and Wolves.

Following his appearance in the play-off final, Pudil’s busy campaign continued on the international stage, where he represented Czech Republic at Euro 2016.

His impressive form for the Owls continued in the 2016/17 campaign, which also ended with a place in the play-offs, the left back making 29 appearances.

Pudil made a further 32 appearances for Wednesday in 2017/18, showing his versatility as he moved into a more central position within the Owls' backline.

He has now made over 100 appearances for the Owls, an impressive haul in just over three years.
