Jack Hunt committed his long term future to Sheffield Wednesday in January 2016, signing a three and a half year contract.

Hunt joined the Owls for an undisclosed fee from Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The attacking right back initially joined Wednesday on a season-long loan in July 2015 but soon made the switch from Selhurst Park to Hillsborough permanent.

Hunt has been a regular fixture in the Owls’ defence since his arrival and helped Wednesday reach the Championship play-offs in his first two campaigns with the club.

The 26-year-old graduated through Huddersfield Town’s youth system and made his debut for the Terriers in January 2011 after loan spells at Grays Athletic and Chesterfield.

He went on to make 121 appearances for Town and played a key role in the Terriers’ promotion to the Championship in 2011/12, playing 50 times through the season.

His powerful performances for the West Yorkshire club attracted interest from the Premier League and in September 2013, Crystal Palace signed the defender for an undisclosed fee.

An ankle injury disrupted Hunt’s start at Selhurst Park and after a period on the sidelines, the attacking defender joined Barnsley and made 11 appearances in the Championship for the Oakwell club.

Hunt was back on the move last term, starting the season on loan with Nottingham Forest where he played 19 times before switching to Championship rivals Rotherham in January 2015.
