The Owls signed Lucas Joao from Portuguese top-flight side National in the summer of 2015, the striker penning a four-year deal.
The highly rated youngster made his mark with the club early on, scoring his first goal in a League Cup tie against Mansfield at Hillsborough, before netting a dramatic last minute winner against Brentford at Griffin Park.
A memorable header in Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Arsenal at Hillsborough was a highlight for the flamboyant forward who ended his first season with the Owls on eight goals.
Last time out the forward featured 12 times for Wednesday before joining Blackburn Rovers on loan.
The Portuguese scored three goals during his time at Ewood Park, including a brace in a 2-2 draw away against Norwich.
Joao began his career as a youth with Beira Mar Atlético Clube Almada after moving to Portugal as a teenager.
In 2011 he signed for Nacional and moved out on loan to third tier side SC Mirandela to gain first team experience.
After impressing with Mirandela, Joao returned to Nacional for the 2013/14 campaign and the coveted hitman attracted the attention of a raft of clubs around Europe before his move to S6.
