The Owls academy product has made big strides at Hillsborough, having regularly impressed at Under-18 level and in the Development Squad.

Dawson spent time on loan with Plymouth in 2013/14 and played 17 games on loan for Alfreton in 2014/15.

His progress at Hillsborough has seen Dawson earn international recognition with England at Under-18 and Under-19 level.

Dawson enjoyed a short term loan spell with League 2 side Wycombe Wanderers in August 2016.

He made two appearances for the Adams Park club, making his senior league bow in the process.

Dawson returned to Hillsborough and made his Owls debut, coming on from the bench, in October 2016 in a 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

He made four appearances in total for Wednesday in 2016/17 and kept his first clean sheet in the Owls' 1-0 win over QPR at Hillsborough in the same month.

In 2017/18. following a short-term loan at Chesterfield in which he played two games, Dawson returned to Hillsborough and featured nine times. 

The Wednesdayite has since become a first team regular between the sticks for the Owls.

The shot stopper signed a new deal with the Owls in January 2020, extending his stay in S6 until the summer of 2024.

Dawson joined Exeter City on a season-long loan in the summer of 2021 and made 50 appearances in all competitions, helping the Grecians win promotion from League Two.
