Sean Clare joined the Owls from the Nike academy in August 2016.

The midfielder has made great strides at the club and has gained vital loan experience in the EFL.

He made four appearances for League One side Bury in 2015/16 and a further eight for League Two outfit Accrington Stanley in 2016/17, where he also struck his first professional goal in a 2-2 draw with Wycombe.

Clare has also enjoyed an extremely productive few months on loan with Gillingham in the first half of the 2017/18 campaign.

The midfielder become a fan favourite during his time at Priestfield and posted 27 appearances for the Gills.

On just his second appearance for the League One side, the 21-year-old was off the mark in front of goal, scoring the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon.

Clare made his Owls debut in the Steel City derby, coming on as a late substitute in the 0-0 draw at Bramall Lane in January 2018.

The midfield man made his full debut the following month in the Owls' 2-0 victory over Derby at Hillsborough and scored his maiden goal against Villa next time out.
