Keiren Westwood believes the imminent derby double is the ideal scenario for Wednesday to look forward to following the unfortunate defeat at Reading on Saturday.

Despite dominating large periods of the Madejski clash, the Owls had nothing to show for their efforts and are out for a swift return to winning ways.

The Owls welcome Barnsley to Hillsborough on Tuesday before hosting fellow local rivals Rotherham four days later and Westwood said: “When you lose a game, you want to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible and we have two big games to look forward to over the coming week.

“We were unlucky at Reading, anyone who was there could see that, but we won’t dwell on that, we now focus on two big derby games.

“Once again, the fans were fantastic on Saturday, and we need them again to help create those special atmospheres again at Hillsborough this week.”
