Palmer’s charity PACT!

24 April 2024

Put the date in your diary – Sunday 12 May at 10:00am!

Our very own Liam Palmer will be back at Hillsborough Park to complete a 5km run all in the name of charity and you’re welcome to come along too!

Many of you will remember Liam’s 10k-a-day for Jude in June challenge back in the summer of 2022 that culminated in a memorable final lap at Hillsborough Park.

Supporting his friend and former team mate Arron Jameson and his wife Lucy, Palmer took on the epic challenge ahead of the season for young Jude, running 10km every day.

It was heartwarming to see Liam, accompanied by Jude, his parents and the wider Wednesday community come together to run the final stretch.

Jude so very sadly lost his battle with cancer last year.

It was announced in March that Liam had become a patron for PACT - Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia.

The charity work hard in Sheffield to help families in need at incredibly difficult times.

Now, Diet Starts Monday (DSM) Running Club are set to host this 5km Hillsborough Park run!

DSM was established to raise funds for PACT in memory of Jude Mellon-Jameson through participating in different challenges and events throughout the year.

Palmer will now head back to Hillsborough Park on Sunday 12 May for a 5km fun run (or walk if you prefer!) in support of PACT Sheffield.

The run will begin at 10:00am (pre-race brief at 9:45am) and we are encouraging as many of you as possible to get down and support Liam in raising awareness and funds for this special charity.

There is a minimum suggested donation of £5 per person and all finishers will be awarded a medal! You can make your donation at any time HERE.

Every penny raised will go direct to PACT.

Ahead of the run in just over two weeks’ time, Liam and PACT are on the lookout for volunteers, who will help marshal the race and be positioned around the park, on hand to help the runners!

If you can help and volunteer, head to @dietstartsmondayrunningclub on Instagram and leave a direct message!
