  • Lewis Baker impressed by Owls
  • Chelsea loanee made his debut at The City Ground
  • 19-year-old ready for S6 clash this weekend

Lewis Baker made his Owls debut on Saturday at The City Ground and the young talent is hungry for more.

The Chelsea loanee was impressed from the first minute to the last as Wednesday produced one of their best performances of the season.

But Baker’s praise extended beyond the performance on the pitch, as the youngster paid tribute to the travelling support from Wednesday.

He told swfc.co.uk: “It was a great experience to make my debut for Sheffield Wednesday.

“At times the travelling fans were louder than the home end and they made the experience that bit more special.

“The fans got behind the team all afternoon and played a big part in us going on to get the win.

“It was a great performance and the boys won the game in a professional manner.”

Baker was introduced from the bench for the final ten minutes and the England Under-20 international is keen to store more game-time and is looking forward to his first taste of Hillsborough this weekend.

He added: “I’m looking forward to more of the same now. I’ve made my debut and want to kick on. We’re at Hillsborough next against Bolton and that will be another experience for me.

“I’ve walked into a dressing room of talented players and and I’ve got no doubt we can achieve things this season.”
